Terms for Clients
Tuition Hero is a tuition agency that matches parents/students/tutees to private home tutors. This service is provided by Hero Education Pte Ltd. The word “client” refers to parents, students and tutees who requested for a tutor or tutoring service. “Tutor” refers to tutors who will be providing the tutoring services.

Service Quality
Tuition Hero is committed to provide quality services, to suggest the best tutor and to provide support to make sure both clients and tutors have the best experience they expected. However, Tuition Hero does not guarantee the improvement of student’s grades. We believe that in order to achieve improvement, several factors are required, such as suitability and commitment of tutor, cooperation from students/parents, student’s diligence and hard work, among others.
Tutor Verification
By signing up as Tuition Hero’s tutor, tutors are required to bring their relevant certificates and NRIC on the first class if the clients have made the request. Clients have the rights to request for such documents prior to the first class.
Commission
The services are free of charge for the clients. We get our commission from the tutor in the two-week cycle tuition fee or 50% of the first month tuition fee. However, the client is required to pay us for this on behalf of the tutor.
Classes requirement
Upon the confirmation of the assignment and the tutor, the clients are required to complete a minimum of one class on the fixed date and time agreed. If the client decides to terminate the tuition before the first class, the client is required to pay for the first class as administrative charge. If two or more classes have been conducted before the client decides to terminate the tuition, the client would only have to pay for the number of classes taught.
Payment
Tuition fees for the first two weeks
We require clients to transfer two weeks worth of tuition fee to us after the completion of the first two-week tuition cycle even should there be any change, cancellation or postponement in the tuition date. For example, if the tuition is agreed to be held on 7th September (first week) and 14th September (second week) but the client postpones the tuition from 14th September to 21st September, we will collect the two weeks worth of tuition fee on 22nd September.
Our client support will send the client an invoice after the completion of the first two-week cycle tuition. Payment shall be made either by internet banking or via an ATM. Payment receipt shall be kept as proof.
If the client decides to pay to the tutor instead, the client is required to inform us and we will collect the fees from the tutor. Should there be a delay on the payment of the tutor, the client will have the full responsibility to pay on behalf of the tutor.
From 3rd week onwards
From the third week onwards, the client can pay to the tutor directly, either after each class, weekly or monthly, depending on the agreement between the client and the tutor.
Changes of schedule, postponement or cancellation of class
Client must take the effort to notify Tuition Hero in any changes, postponement or cancellation of classes in the first four-week cycle of classes. Tuition Hero will adjust the payment collection time and details.
If there is any postponement, the client is required to inform the tutor at least three hours earlier before the start of class. If the client has informed the tutor less than three hours before the start of class, the tutor has the right to claim for the wasted time and transport cost, which will be no more than one class worth of tuition fee
Amount of commission remains the same even if there is a cancellation and postponement.
Changes to classes duration
If there are changes in duration or frequency of classes within 2 months, Tuition Hero will determine the commission based on the long-term duration or frequency of classes
For example:
Scenario 1: Client agrees to have 1 class/week for the first 4 weeks and 2 classes/week from the 5th week onwards. Our commission is charged based on the long-term assignment. We will collect the first 4 classes’ tuition fee as commission.
Scenario 2: Client agrees to have 4 hours/week and requests to have only 2 hours for the first week. Our commission is charged based on the long-term assignment. We will collect 8 hours worth of tuition fee as commission.
Replacement or Termination of Tutor
Except the first mandatory class upon confirmation, the client can change or terminate the tutor after the first class. Client shall notify us about the change or termination of the tutor.
If the classes were held for less than 4 weeks, payment of all the classes conducted shall be paid to us and we will be responsible for paying the tutor accordingly. If the client decides to pay to the tutor instead, the client is required to inform us so we can collect the commission from the tutor. Should there be a delay in the payment of the tutor, the client has the responsibility to pay on behalf of the tutor.
If the classes were held for more than 4 weeks, payment of all the classes conducted shall be paid to the tutor.
Client can request a replacement of tutor after the termination.
Delay in Payment
The client is required to make the payment within 7 days. We understand that delay in payment is inevitable in some cases due to personal reasons, thus we will try our best to remind the client and follow-up on the payment. Giving additional time is solely on a goodwill basis.
However, actions might be taken if we failed to receive the payment on time:
a) Lawsuit & Tribunal of Small Claims.
b) Filing of Police Report.
Disclaimer
Tuition Hero acts as a 3rd party in the process of the matching services. In no event shall Tuition Hero, the director and the employees be liable for any damages or physical harm inflicted whatsoever (including, but not limited to, theft, damages to property, physical/verbal abuse, outrage of modesty, sexual harassment, etc) to either of the involved parties.
Tuition Hero does not guarantee the improvement of student’s grades.
Tuition Hero reserves the right to amend our T&C at any time without prior notice to our clients.
